Cathode-Ground
laser-diodes powering card. The card can be interfaced to
a computer via the PC104 bus (ISA protocol). The card’s
base address can be selected on demand.
By means of a 14 bit dac (0.01 0.02 mA resolution), the diode
power can be set and modified via software to range between
0 e 240 mA,
It is possible to monitor on-line all the parameters describing
the card performance. A series of dedicated analogical inputs
monitors:
- Power
- Tension applied to the laser diode
- Tension applied to the photodiode
- Card’s temperature
Some auxiliary inputs and outputs (both analogical
and digital) are available to perform eventual other tasks,
such as monitoring other devices.
The card is equipped with one digital input, two digital outputs,
and three analogical inputs managed by a 12-bit ADC. The ADC
can operate both in bipolar mode or bipolar with top scale
either of 5 or 10 V.
In case of problems in reading the internal ADC, the card
will send an interrupt signal to the CPU. The card is configured
in such a way as to accept an external interrupt signal.
