Hornet

Hornet is a wearable system (Device On Board) that allows the acquisition of biomedical signals: ECG, respiratory rate and state of motion.

Specifically, these parameters are extracted from biomedical signals:

  • Heart Rate
  • Standard deviation of RR intervals
  • Pace index parameters
  • Tachycardia events temporal distribution
  • Bradycardia events temporal distribution
  • Frequency breaths
  • Patient's state of motion

The prototype is intended for the management of patients with heart failure (CHF) who reside in their homes.

The data is transmitted wirelessly to a "domestic" station (PC). Hornet operates in constant connection with the transmission control unit but there are no data buffering mechanisms for the management of the "out of home" patient .
