Hornet is a wearable system (Device On Board) that allows the acquisition of biomedical signals: ECG, respiratory rate and state of motion.
Specifically, these parameters are extracted from biomedical signals:
- Heart Rate
- Standard deviation of RR intervals
- Pace index parameters
- Tachycardia events temporal distribution
- Bradycardia events temporal distribution
- Frequency breaths
- Patient's state of motion
The prototype is intended for the management of patients with heart failure (CHF) who reside in their homes.

The data is transmitted wirelessly to a "domestic" station (PC). Hornet operates in constant connection with the transmission control unit but there are no data buffering mechanisms for the management of the "out of home" patient .
